Bradley & I go way way back, and one beautiful weekend in September I got to decorate his wedding to his beautiful new wife Rachael!
Rachael, Brad & I met up to discuss their wedding and marquee wedding flowers. The theme was ‘large, luxurious and BEAUTIFUL!’. Their colour scheme was pretty pastels in pink, lavender and white using a variety of seasonal flowers.
They had their heart set on a pure white marquee wedding, and it was especially convenient that Rachael’s family own a large plot of land directly behind their house. After much deliberation of marquee companies, they eventually were able to get their dream set-up with white walls, white carpet and white sofas. The over-all scene was absolutely stunning, and a complete vision.
The ceremony was held at the most picturesque and characterful church in Little Missenden called ‘St John the Baptist’, which dates back to the year 975, over 1000 years old! The old wooden entrance arch was adorned with a 12ft floral arch filled with Hydrangea, Eustoma and many, many Roses. Inside, two large wall hanging displays were hung either side of the altar which framed the couple beautifully, and looked amazing in the wedding photographs.
The marquee was built at the back of Rachael’s parent’s house, with two large flower pedestal displays standing proud either side of the marquee entrance. Inside, Rachael and Brad chose to have tall table centrepieces made around silver stands. The brief was ‘as large as possible!’, they were approx 50cm diameter, which is a fairly decent size! The top table was decorated with a floral garland spanning the whole length of the table, and all the chairs were decorated simply with a pale pink organza sash.
The pastel colours worked beautifully against the stark whiteness of the marquee, creating a contemporary and luxurious feel. I am extra proud of this wedding, I created every single display myself without any help and I was truly shattered afterward! I still made the Church in time however!
Many thanks to my helper Naomi who fitted the chair cover sashes, she always does a fantastic job of it. The beautiful images below were taken by Ruth Allen of Ruth Allen Photography. xxx
