Britain is home to some of the very best flower growers and gardeners producing beautiful British flowers both on a mass scale, and at artisan level. The Chelsea Flower Show is a prime example of how us Brits love our flowers!
If i’m being honest, 90% of the flowers I buy are flown in from Holland, and other countries. However on a recent floristry course I attended, I was introduced to the huge variety of British flowers that are available to me and I was truly amazed. I had never thought of buying my flowers direct from the growers in our own country, however the flowers produced from our own soil are long lasting, more natural looking and fresher!
Think about it, flowers bought from foreign soils have been picked, packaged, travelled to a port or airport, flown or sailed to the UK, and then delivered to us florists. British flowers are in most cases delivered the same day they are cut – MUCH FRESHER!
