Clare contacted me to discuss her wedding flowers after seeing my floral displays in a local hairdressers, JAM.
Upon meeting Clare, I quickly realised that this is one very girly girl! Having booked the Monkey Island Hotel in Bray for her wedding breakfast and reception, Clare knew exactly what she wanted her day to look like, and described the scheme to be ‘ballet slipper blush’ with gold touches.
This blonde bombshell wanted big, fluffy blush coloured flowers, and lots of them! Number 1 on her list was Peonies. Now, Peonies have a very short availability and Clare’s wedding was just outside the recommended season for them. Luckily, I called around all my suppliers the week of the wedding, and managed to source the pink lovelies at the last minute. Clare’s wedding dress was name ‘The Peony’ by the designer, so it was only right she had Peonies on her big day!
Clare was well versed in the perfect Pinterest wedding, and had the idea of buying an extravagant chandelier and having it completely covered in flowers. Being the adventurous florist type, I was well up for the challenge!
The chandelier was hung above the dance floor, where I completely filled it with blush and ivory flowers, it was truly spectacular.
Centrepieces consisted of large glass tank vases which were internally wrapped with gold leaves and filled with blush coloured blooms. The centrepieces sat on a glittery gold glass plate, which we now have permanently in stock.
A long foliage and Rose garland was created for the couple’s oval shaped top table, and Peonies and Roses were used to adorn the beautifully made wedding cake.
Bridal flowers were large hand-tied posies made in a loose ‘un-done’ style, with pretty pale pink Rose buttonholes.
The Flower Menu for this wedding was…
- ‘Sweet Avalanche’ Roses
- ‘Sarah Berndhart’ Peonies
- ‘Jana’ Spray Roses
