Last weekend Flora Special Occasion headed to Maidenhead to decorate a fabulous English-Sri Lankan fusion Lillibrooke Manor Wedding.
Sharn & Rasika had a Sri Lankan ceremony set within the gardens of Lillibrooke Manor, followed by an English civil ceremony in their ceremony barn.
The couple wanted a rustic scheme to tie in with the aesthetics of Lillibrooke Manor, and their several barns. After a consultation, we decided to go with dusky pink & lime green colours, which matched Sharn’s outfit, as well as the bridesmaid’s dresses. To make the decor look rustic and with a feel of the English countryside, we chose a variety of traditionally British blooms in shades of pink of varying textures with a good mix of foliage, and arranged them into a ‘just picked’ style, which is very popular this year.
The couple’s Sri Lankan ceremony was set-up in a very traditional way, with a stage and 6 pillars which all had pedestal displays sat on top in varying size, giving an illusion of depth and interest. The English ceremony featured a long & low flower display, with fresh Rose petals scattered down either side of the aisle, giving a very pretty and delicate effect.
We mixed it up for the reception flowers, having half bark covered vases filled with flowers, and half candle displays on all the guest tables. The bark covered vases are available for hire here , they give the ultimate rustic look and are an original and unusual alternative to the traditional glass vase. Hurricane vases were used to house church pillar candles which were surrounded with pretty tulip bottomed bud vases (also available to hire!), which were filled with focal blooms.
Thank you Sharn & Rasika for choosing us to decorate your wedding day, we hope you had a magical day!
