Jess & Ed’s wedding flowers at Dorney Court last June were definitely ones to remember. There is nothing more refreshing as a florist, than when a couple chose a colour scheme ‘out of the ordinary’. When first meeting Jess, she told me that she wanted the flowers to be a huge part of her wedding day (another thing us florists love to hear!), and that she wanted big, beautiful & vibrant. Their colour scheme was punchy orange, peach and ivory with lots & lots of whispy romantic foliages.
The venue was St James the Less at Dorney, followed by a reception at the fantastic and characterful Dorney Court (run by Absolute Taste).
The bridal flowers consisted of large bouquets for the bride & bridesmaids, and delicate flower crowns for the bridesmaids.
The church ceremony was held at the pretty St James the Less, which is set within the Dorney Court Estate, it’s extremely quaint and so we hung Gypsophila bunches from the pew ends, and created a big beautiful flower arch across the stone entrance to the vestry. We also placed a pair of large pedestal displays either side of the altar, to frame the couple as they read their vows.
The reception was set in Dorney Court’s barn, Jess & Ed had all round tables, with low cylinder tank centrepieces on the guest tables and a tall martini vase display on their top table. Foliage was used to entwine around the bannisters, making sure that every area of the reception was decorated and looking lovely.
Some lovely feedback from Jessie since the wedding…
“Nicola was absolutely superb. Flowers were such an important part of my day- hence the vibrant colours I chose. Nicola listened to what I wanted and got it spot on in every way. The scent from our bouquets was amazing and the flowers dominated every photo- just as they should! I would highly recommend Nicola to anyone thinking about their wedding florist- professional, responsive and very talented.”
Thank you so much for letting us be a part of your day, and thank you to Selen at Momento Photography for the fabulous images.
